Common Questions

Mailbox Information

Our HOA rules include pre-approved designs for the mailbox's in both the south and north sections of the neighborhood.  It is recommended that residents inspect and maintain their mailboxes on an annual basis.

The North Neighborhood

The mailbox posts and boxes in the north portion of the community are cast iron metal and different from the wood posts in the south part of the community.  The original manufacturer no longer supports, repairs, and provides replacement parts for these metal posts.  When residents need to repair their metal mail posts, they have contacted various metal working vendors in the area.  As a service to other residents, the HOA provides the following business contacts as information only.

  • Nostalgic Lampposts & Mailboxes Plus, Inc - Phone: (941) 223-1677

The South Neighborhood

The style and paint design for the mailbox's in the south portion of the community, are based upon a wood post and horizontal cross boards to support the mailbox.

Mailbox Shell

The mailbox is a “medium” size metal shell and the approved color is a Hunter Green. Home Depot carriers replacement mailbox, with the dimension of 6.92 in. W x 8.87 in. H x 20.05 in. In addition to a replacement box, residents will need a mounting kit. The mounting kits holds the box to the posts, and helps prevents water from being trapped against the wood, and this will help prevent wood rot.

Note: Home Depot and Lowes do not appear to carry this mailbox and color combination in our local stores. Residents are encouraged to order online.

Weed Trimmer Guard for Post

Residents are encouraged to install the optional weed trimmer guard for the mailbox post. The guard will help prevent damage to the post and reduce the need to re-paint the post. Please be sure to purchase a guard for a 6x6 inch post. The links provide residents with options to consider.
