Campers, Boats and Trailers

Many residents have a variety of questions related to the parking and storage of campers, RV's and trailers within the Three Oaks community.  This article will address the most common questions, and provide you with a link to the detailed rules within the official HOA documents.

HOA Rules that govern Campers, Boats and Trailers

The original HOA documents included a section that provided for the rules and restrictions related to "Vehicles".  Within this section, the rules list the restrictions related the campers, boats, trailers and similar vehicles.  Residents should read and review these restriction in the Declaration of Restrictions document, Article IV, Paragraph 18.    

Summary of Rules

The HOA rules do not allow residents to permanently park or store their campers, boats, trailers or similar vehicles in the driveway of their lot.  Residents are also prohibited from storing these types of vehicles in their front or side yards, or any place that is within the public view.  Residents are permitted to park and store these types of vehicles inside their garage.

Frequently Ask Questions

For the purpose of these Frequantly Asked Questions, they are posed in the form that the restricted vehicle is a "boat" or "camper".  Residents should be aware that all of the answers are relevant to each the other types of restricted vehicles, including: boats, boat trailers, campers, motor homes, trailers, wave runner, motorcycle trailer, etc.

Q1: May I park my boat in my garage?

A1: Yes, if your boat is small enough to be parked in your garage, then you may park and store your vehicle in your garage.

 

Q2: May I store my boat in my side or back yard?

A2: Yes, assuming that your boat is small enough and would not be visible to the public, when viewed from your street or an outside boarder street, such as Gantt, Proctor, etc.

 

Q3: May I temporary park my boat or camper in my driveway, to load, unload and clean?

A3: Yes, residents may temporarily park boats or campers in their driveway for loading, unloaded, and cleaning.

 

Q4: What does the HOA consider "temporary" parking for loading and unloading?

A4: The HOA considers 1-3 days as a temporary period.  Anything over 5 days may result is a violation letter.
